Facebook is launching an independent oversight board, a so-called “Supreme Court” to which moderation decisions can be appealed, but on Friday, 25 experts and outspoken Facebook critics announced they’re forming the “Real Facebook Oversight Board,” their own group that will “analyze and critique Facebook’s content moderation decisions, policies and other platform issues in the run-up to the presidential election and beyond,” NBC News reports.

The advocacy group The Citizens is behind the Real Facebook Oversight Board, which consists of civil rights leaders and academics among other experts who reportedly plan to meet weekly over Zoom. The Citizens’ founder, journalist Carole Cadwalladr, described this as an “emergency response.”

“We know there are going to be a series of incidents leading up to the election and beyond in which Facebook is crucial,” Cadwalladr told NBC News. “This is a real-time response from an authoritative group of experts to counter the spin Facebook is putting out.”

Though Facebook’s oversight board is launching in October, , given how long the process is expected to take, “that will be too late to hear cases related to the U.S. election.” Facebook, according to NBC News, “isn’t welcoming the outside board” and has expressed disappointment over its formation, and The Verge notes the board “will hold no power and is largely meant as a symbolic gesture.”

An apparent pitch deck for the project reported on by Axios, though, says it plans to use “stunts, viral video, celebrity endorsement and skillful media management to throw a spotlight on the real-time threats to democracy,” adding, “Democracy needs its own PR team and creative agency. We are it.”

More capable Treadmills will allow you to reach speeds of 16kph (or around 10mph) and higher with ease. While cheaper treadmills may only be limited to jogging speeds.

increase the challenge of a workout without altering the speed. Budget home
treadmill may not have this feature at all, hence the price but there are many

The importance of checking the treadmill sizes may seem obvious but it can be easily overlooked. Before you start looking at home treadmill options, it is a good idea to measure where you plan to put the treadmill and keep these measurements to hand when browsing.

In addition to the treadmill’s general size, it’s important to take note of the running deck size. You want a treadmill that allows enough space for you to run on it without fear of falling off the end.

Comparing Home Treadmill Max Weights

The max weight that a treadmill can handle is dependent on the frame strength and motor strength. As a result, lower cost home treadmills are likely to have a lower max user weight limit. Most home treadmills should be able to withstand a weight of 100kg and the higher end model will handle even more.

A cushioning system not only make the treadmill more comfortable to run on but also helps to reduce noise.

Brand Reputation Warranty and After sales support

the product. Also consider what the warranty actually covers and if you are unsure,

Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s personal trainer pays tribute to her with push-ups in front of her casket – CBS News

Bryant Johnson, the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s personal trainer, dropped to the ground in front of her casket and performed three push-ups to honor her at the U.S. Capitol on Friday.

Johnson, who Ginsburg has called a “very important part of my life,” worked with the justice for more than 20 years. The duo became workout partners in 1999 after Ginsburg received treatment for colorectal cancer, the Associated Press reported. It was, in fact, her husband who triggered her drive to stay fit and rebuild her strength.

At the time, another judge referred Ginsberg to Johnson, an Army reservist and trainer. Since their first meeting, Ginsberg committed to working out twice a week with Johnson, and over the years, the “Notorious RBG,” who often touted the benefits of a good workout, became well-known for her exercise regime.

Her determination inspired Johnson to write a book in 2017, which details their workout plan, which included push-ups, planks, chest and shoulder presses, bicep and leg curls and many other full strength exercises.

A year later, Ginsburg’s exercise routine became a sketch for”The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” The late justice took Colbert to a gym, where they grinded through the exercises. 

Throughout their relationship, there were only a few times where Johnson and Ginsburg were not able to workout. In 2004, Johnson was deployed to Kuwait for three years, and in 2009 and 2014, Ginsburg was dealing with serious health issues. 

Last year, Ginsburg revealed that she did continue working out while receiving treatment for pancreatic cancer that summer. “Even in my lowest periods I couldn’t do very much, but I did what I can,” she said at the time.
