Growing up in a sporting family from North Brunswick, New Jersey, Dillon Salva was destined to follow in his parents footsteps as an athlete.
Started by playing four years of football along with basketball at Bishop George Ahr High School in Edison, NJ.
He would leave the school earning all-state, all-county, all-area and all-division honors in football and the school’s all-time leader in two-point field goals in a season and blocks in a game in basketball.
Growing up, his parents were always there every step of the way. With Dad as coach, an accomplished athlete in his own right, playing Division One football for Memphis, and his mother never missing a game.
To this date, both have been there supporting him live at every game he has ever played.
Salva would play basketball for one season (2015-16) at Brookdale Community College. Making it to the championship game, only to go down on the buzzer by one point.
Individually, Salva earned all-region and all-league honours.
He would opt to join Merrimack College as his next step in 2016. Where he was offered a scholarship in football, along with the opportunity to play basketball.
In his first year of football at Merrimack, he was quickly welcomed into the team and quickly earned his spot as starting Tight End.
Salva would go on to impress, putting on one of the best all around Pro Days in the country at Tight End.
When basketball season began, Salva was given the opportunity to be part of a great group of talent. He grabbed the opportunity with both hands as he would dominate the competition as a powerful and intimidating forward.
They would go on to enter as the eighth seed in the NCAA tournament, where they would make it to the second round of the tournament and would be the only eighth seed team to upset a first seed team.
Following Merrimack College, Salva was invited to participate at the local day workouts for both the New York Jets and New York Giants.
After the 2018 NFL Draft, he would join the Washington Redskins for their rookie mini camp. Then would join the Atlanta Falcons for their organised team activity sessions (OTAs).
Later in 2018, Salva would join the Outtatowners New England team in the American Basketball Association. Which led to an offer to play in El Salvador.
In 2019, Salva would participate in the BSN National Scouting Combine and The Spring League in Austin, Texas. He would break his own positional record for vertical jump, with a 41 ½ jump. His impressive showing earned him over 15 contract offers from both arena and international teams.
Later that year, he would also take part in the XFL New York invitational combine.
Salva decided to use his athletic ability and experience to help others, becoming a full-time person trainer.
Recently transitioning into bodybuilding, he now sees that as a potential career move and a new challenge. Coached by one of the best available in the USA, Guy Del Corso, Salva is already showing great signs as a body-builder.
