Kaged Muscle Supplements CreaClear Explained
What Is Creatine?
Creatine is a naturally-occurring amino acid that is found in meat, fish and is also made by the human body in the liver, kidneys, and pancreas. It is converted into creatine phosphate or phosphocreatine and stored in the muscles, where it is used for energy. During high-intensity, short-duration exercise, such as lifting weights or sprinting, phosphocreatine is used as a source of ATP, a major carrier of energy within the human body.
Creatine Monohydrate is a sports nutrition supplement generally used for its muscle building abilities.
All Creatine Monohydrate is the same, right? WRONG. It isn’t. We can get into the science behind the different quality of Creatine Monohydrate (is it from China…some of that stuff isn’t meeting label claims, or is it a branded ingredient?) The other area to consider is the solubility of your Creatine, does it mix in water? We can tell you that most Creatine supplements do not mix well in water.
CreaClear™ is a trademark brand name that belongs to Kaged Muscle Supplements. It’s the brand name for their Microencapsulated Creatine Monohydrate. To fully understand CreaClear™, you need to understand microencapsulation.
Microencapsulation is a process in which tiny particles or droplets are surrounded by a coating to give small capsules, of many useful properties. Microencapsulation has many advantages:
- Offers effective protection of the encapsulated Creatine Monohydrate against degradation
- Accurately control the release rate of the Creatine Monohydrate over time
- Easy administration (oral)
- Desired, pre-programmed Creatine Monohydrate release profiles can be provided which match the clinical studies of Creatine Monohydrate (5g)
A study was conducted on microencapsulation stating that it is a promising technique for controlled drug delivery. For CreaClear™, they use a patent pending microencapsulation technology that covers their Creatine Monohydrate. The Creatine mMnohydrate in CreaClear™ is encased with dairy protein for effective protection. This unique protein membrane is void of any pores on its surface, ensuring the creatine remains intact and stable in fluid.
CreaClear™ also protects creatine against ingestion, proteolysis, and lipolysis in the stomach, and intestine because of the microencapsulation. This helps improve bioavailability. Despite early studies suggesting nearly complete oral absorption of Creatine Monohydrate, a 2018 study in rats looked at 10g Creatine Monohydrate and 70g Creatine Monohydrate. Results on both suggest that oral bioavailability of Creatine Monohydrate is less than complete. A review of increasing bioavailability of Creatine Monohydrate suggested that significant improvements in bioavailability can be obtained. One of those improvements was microencapsulation.
Most Creatine Monohydrate supplements will not fully dissolve in water. This means you will have particles floating and residue stuck to the inside of your shaker cup. CreaClear™ changes all of that with their microencapsulated technology. Below is an example of CreaClear™ versus a competitor. The results are clear (pun intended) that CreaClear performed better in water.
As you can see, with CreaClear™ the instant mix was clear, while the competitor was foggy. After 3 minutes CreaClear was still clear while the competitor creatine settled to the bottom of the beaker.
Not only is CreaClear™ more water soluble, microencapsulation suggests it is a better delivery mechanism of Creatine Monohydrate versus non-microcapsulation. With Creatine Monohydrate being the most studied sports nutrition supplement on humans in history, wouldn’t you want to ensure you’re making the most of it?
How To Take CreaClear™
Loading Phase: 20 g per day for 5 to 7 days (divided into 4 daily equal doses)
Maintenance Phase: 5 g per day, post-workout with protein shake
To determine dose based on body weight, we recommend taking: 0.3g per kg/day divided into 4 daily equal doses for 5 to 7 days. After loading phase, take 3g – 5g per day to maintain elevated creatine levels.
When Is The Best Time To Take CreaClear™?
Once you have followed the loading phase we suggest that you take CreaClear™ with your post-workout protein shake.
Do I Need To Load with CreaClear™?
The most rapid way to increase muscle creatine levels is to follow the loading method as directed. However, even without loading, your muscle levels will eventually reach saturation – it will just take longer to achieve.
