September 2021 Home Gym of the Month – Bells of Steel
Nicole Hamilton, @this_mom_lifts from Instagram!
Her IG handle says it all.
This mom lifts, and Nicole knows that one of the many perks of having a home gym includes being able to spend time with the family!
Check out all of Nicole’s answers to our questionnaire below.
Why did you start your own home gym?
My husband started our garage gym years ago so he could train at home and help with the kids (at the time I didn’t workout at all).
What are your current fitness goals?
About 5 years ago I fell in love with fitness and nutrition and started specifically training for powerlifting about two years ago.
I was mostly training at a commercial gym until lockdown.
My current fitness goal is to compete in my first powerlifting competition in November.
What program are you following?
I have been following @hybridperformancemthod Powerlifting program for two years.
What BoS equipment do you own?
Over the last year I have either added or replaced most our old home gym equipment with BoS equipment.
We have the Brute rack, barenaked powerlifting bar, lever arms, cast iron plates, landmine attachment, split squat attachment, and dip attachment.
What’s next on your wishlist?
I would love to get the BoS functional trainer but I need to get a bigger garage first.
What’s your favorite fitness hack?
One of the best parts of having a home gym is being able to strength train with my kids around! My kids have been in the gym with me since they were babies and love to watch me train, count reps, and keep me company. I can’t wait until they lift heavy with me when they are older.
