The affordable exercise equipment for your at-home gym to buy online from Bunnings

by fitness journalist

Lounge rooms around the country are being transformed into at-home fitness centres, thanks to the recent forced closures of gyms, studios and most recently, outdoor Bootcamps.

You may have already downloaded some of these excellent free at-home workouts, and tried a bunch of new online exercise programmes too, but there are some workouts you simply can’t do without the right gear.

Whilst some gyms, like Double Bay’s Shelter of Paddington’s FLOW Athletic in NSW, are loaning their bulkier equipment to members so they can join in live-streamed Spin classes from home, it’s a tad trickier for the rest of us.

Enter stage left, an unlikely hero: Bunnings Warehouse.

The recent retail rush on exercise equipment has meant shortages Australia-wide, which is why we were excited when we saw the hardware giant offer an affordably-priced range of bikes, treadmills and rowing machines – as well as smaller (but still hard to find) items like resistance bands, skipping ropes, yoga matts, massage balls and weighted wrist wraps via their online store.

Prices for the cardio machines start at $129.00 for Mini Arm & Leg Exercise Bike, and go up to $640.95 for their top-of-the-line treadmill. Smaller tools of the trade like yoga mats and skipping ropes start from $24.

With a veritable plethora of local gyms and studios now offering online classes (and many at a much lesser cost than your usual gym membership), this could be the perfect time to try something new from the comfort of your fully-equipped home gym.
